The 2017 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG North American World Championship Qualifier is getting another voice actor guest?! That’s right, Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament veteran Darren Dunstan will be attending this year’s event! Darren is best known as Maximillion Pegasus in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters and Jean Michel Roget in Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V. He is also the voice director of every Yu-Gi-Oh! series since episode 60 of 5D’s.

Darren’s appearance could very well mean the return of the Ultimate Pegasus Challenge, a special tournament where Pegasus manipulates the game by announcing wacky rule changes while duels are taking place. This event has only ever been held three times — at the YCS Providence 2012, the NAWCQ 2013, and the NAWCQ 2015.

Now that there’s a third guest coming to the event, there simply must be a fourth. Let’s see an exciting two-versus-two tag team duel! C’mon, Konami, make it happen!

The 2017 Yu-Gi-Oh! NAWCQ will take place in Chicago, Illinois, on July 8 and 9.

The 2017 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG North American World Championship Qualifier has announced its next voice actor guest! Making his grand return to the dueling stage is Ted Lewis, best known for playing Bakura in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, Chumley Huffington in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, and Jack Atlas in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s and ARC-V. This will be Ted’s first tournament appearance since 2012 when he and six other voice actors attended YCS Providence to raise money for Dan Green.

With an appearance by The King at this event, could this mean that the Western release of the hotly anticipated Red Rising Dragon is just up ahead? One thing’s for sure — a Synchro versus Fusion showdown between Jack Atlas and Aster Phoenix is perfect for getting the crowd all fired up.

This year’s Yu-Gi-Oh! NAWCQ will be held in Chicago, Illinois, on July 8 and 9. Be on the lookout for the schedule of the autograph signings, live duel, and public events, coming soon to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG events page.

Making his tournament debut is Oliver Wyman, the voice of Zigfried von Schroeder in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters and Aster Phoenix in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and ARC-V. Outside of Yu-Gi-Oh!, Oliver is a prolific audiobook narrator, having worked in the industry for over 17 years and recorded more than 250 books.

With the release of new Destiny HERO monsters just around the corner, attendees are sure to get some dynamite dueling from the stylish and ingenious Aster Phoenix in a scripted live duel. Who would you like to see Aster battle at the event?

The Yu-Gi-Oh! NAWCQ will take place on July 8 and 9 in Chicago, Illinois. Keep an eye on the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG events page for more details about this tournament coming soon.

Yuya Sakaki catching a card in midair in Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V episode 4

The 2016 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG North American World Championship Qualifier will take place on July 9 and 10 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This year’s event promises to be an especially exciting one because Konami has revealed that it will welcome a brand-new guest: Michael Liscio Jr., the voice of Yuya Sakaki in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime! Outside of Yu-Gi-Oh!, Michael also plays Clemont and Inkay in Pokemon and Helia in the newest season of Winx Club.

Also attending the NAWCQ is Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament veteran Greg Abbey, the voice of Yusei Fudo in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s and Tristan Taylor in Classic Yu-Gi-Oh!. Greg participated in the first ever scripted live duel at the 2011 NAWCQ and also guested at the YCS Providence 2012 benefit event.

Michael and Greg will be signing autographs all weekend and participating in a live duel. Expect Yuya to play plenty of cards from the recently released Starter Deck – Yuya, and don’t be surprised if he busts out something new from Shining Victories or even The Dark Illusion. Will Yuya’s Performapals make light work of Yusei’s Stardust Dragon? Or will Yusei’s experience at these live duels overwhelm the young Dueltainer?

Check out the official Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG website for more details about this event, including the schedule for the autograph sessions and live duel and a rundown of the public events that all duelists can participate in.

Yu-Gi-Oh! in Egypt?

The world’s most popular trading card game just got a little bit bigger. On Thursday, Konami announced that the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG is now officially available in the Middle East, giving duelists in the region the opportunity to play in local sanctioned tournaments for the first time ever. To bring official Yu-Gi-Oh! products and tournaments to the region, Konami has partnered with Dueling Area, a Kuwait-based company established in 2013 by fans of trading card games. Dueling Area is already a distributor of Bushiroad’s Cardfight!! Vanguard game.

Dueling Area will be responsible for distributing Yu-Gi-Oh! products and organizing events in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The region’s first sanctioned tournament will be the World Championship Qualifier: Kuwaiti National Championship, which takes place on June 6.

Marik preparing to strike a deal with Yami Bakura in episode 69

This year’s Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG North American World Championship Qualifier is less than a month away and anticipation of the event has surged to colossal proportions with today’s announcement of its latest guest: Jonathan Todd Ross, the voice of Marik Ishtar! This will be Jonathan’s first ever appearance at one of Konami’s Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments. Jonathan doesn’t attend too many public events and signings, so don’t miss this chance to meet him. Be a good mind slave and let him know how much the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom loves Marik Ishtar!

Also attending the NAWCQ will be Darren Dunstan, the voice of Maximillion Pegasus and a veteran guest of Konami’s major tournaments. This will be Darren’s third time mingling with duelists.

The 2015 NAWCQ will take place in Nashville, Tennessee from June 26 to 28. Keep an eye on the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG events page for details about the tournaments, autograph sessions, and maybe even a scripted live duel.

Rafael spots the pharaoh, Yami Yugi, in a valley inhabited by evil apparitions in episode 164

The last few days on Facebook, Konami has been teasing the appearance of the special guests attending the upcoming 2014 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG North American World Championship Qualifier. Today, Konami formally announced that the guests will be Yu-Gi-Oh! voice actors Marc Thompson and Dan Green!

For Marc Thompson, whose roles include Rafael from Classic Yu-Gi-Oh! and Astral from Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, this will be his first appearance at any Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG event. Dan Green, the voice of Yugi and of Tetsu Trudge from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s, is a veteran of Konami’s shindigs, most recently appearing at the 2013 World Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada. Neither of them make very many appearances at anime conventions or other public events, so this will be an extremely rare opportunity to see them both together!

The 2014 North American WCQ will take place from July 11 through 13 at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan. Keep your eyes on the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG events page for more details to be posted.

Don’t be surprised to see a schedule highlighted by scripted live duels filled with exciting new cards from the Dragons of Legend booster. Will we get a duel that rivals the craziness from last year’s World Championship?
