Game footage from MARIK PLAYS PORTAL 2 - MomoCon 2012
“Why is a Millennium Item telling me how to play the game?”

Ready for something different? Little Kuriboh has released a new promo video (on YouTube, Blip.tv) for his next anime con guest appearance at Momocon 2012! Yes, I did say “something different”! It’s Marik playing Portal 2! The tan one finds himself in what might be the Shadow Realm and, with the help of a talking British eye thing, tries to find a way out! A new song is included. Yesterday, LK also uploaded an outtake from the promo. Uh huh, an “outtake.” Right. ;)

MomoCon runs from March 16 to 18 in Atlanta, Georgia. Other featured guests at the con include Wendee Lee (the voice of Faye Valentine and Haruhi Suzumiya) and Ellen McLain (GLaDOS from the Portal series). Also, LK will be in the dealer’s room selling Kaiba Condoms. Wait, what…?

More Anime Convention Goodness: LK to Return to Alcon

Awesome news for Little Kuriboh’s UK fans: LK will officially be returning to Alcon later this year! LK has attended every Alcon event since 2009 and actually thought that last year’s would be his final appearance because he was moving to America.

But thanks to the generosity of many fans, who donated a total of £730 (nearly $1200), not only will LK be heading back to England and meeting up with his friends at the con, but he will also be able to see his family for the first time since he left for the U.S. late last year. On Tumblr, LK retells a wild and touching story of how one selfless act led to the fundraiser that made all this possible.

Alcon will be held at De Montfort University in Leicester, England from September 6 to 9. This year’s con will again be open to anyone 16 years old and over.

LK has also confirmed that he will be attending E3 and Otakon (though not as a guest) this summer.

Did You Miss It?

Since my last update, Little Kuriboh has worked on some projects that may have slipped under your radar. The first was a funny little short uploaded for Valentine’s Day, with the audio recorded by LK and the video by RebornZombie. LK also appeared in the Nostalgia Critic’s 200th episode: a review of Ponyo. Voice actor Spike Spencer and comedian Uncle Yo make cameo appearances, too.

Sadly, LK wasn’t able to have a new video ready in time for last week’s Anime Milwaukee because of Valentine’s Day, but fear not! Next up is Marik’s Evil Council 5, followed by YGOTAS episode 55, then the song parody for the Dan Green charity event, which will be “Telephone” by Lady Gaga. LK hopes to have the episode done by next month.

[YGO: TAS] Ask Marik Ishtar Anything on Formspring

Marik Ishtar in Bakura's mind in episode 79

Have you ever wondered what Marik Ishtar will do once he takes over the world? Or what tattoos he has on his body, other than that large, crazy one on his back? Or whether there is anything more than friendship between him and Bakura? Find out the answers to these questions and more on Marik’s Formspring account, then ask your own! The account was created yesterday morning by Little Kuriboh.

So why did Marik suddenly join Formspring? “I wish to spread myself all over the Internet,” he said. Hmm, who or what else would he like to spread himself all over?

One More British Anime Con…

At Nom-Con in Dublin, Ireland earlier this month, Little Kuriboh said that he might not be attending another anime convention in the British Isles unless “some crazy miracle happens.” Well guess what? In a “secret last-minute guest announcement,” the British anime convention Alcon has announced LK as one of its guests this year! LK will be returning to Leicester, England for a third year in a row to attend the event between September 8 and 11. MasakoX will be there, too! And unlike last year’s event, which had an adults-only age restriction, Alcon 2011 will be open to anyone 16 years old and over.

…And Some U.S. Anime Cons, Too

Thought Little Kuriboh wouldn’t be heading to any U.S. anime conventions for the rest of this year? Guess again! In the past few days, LK has announced some great stops that he will be making in America. First up is Youmacon in Detroit, Michigan on November 3 through 6. TeamFourStar will be present as well, and they’ll be roasting poor LK at an 18+ panel! Oh man, I hope fans get some video footage of this! Listeners of Wha-Chow! can also rejoice, for Psyguy and many of the other podcast regulars will also be attending, too (though not as guests). Next, LK will head to Anime Vegas, taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 11 through 13.

He’s not done there. LK has also already announced plans for cons in early 2012. Between February 3 and 5, he’ll be dropping by the Dartz-favorite Kami-Con in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the third year in a row! Then, it’s off to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for Anime Milwaukee between February 17 through 19.

Whew! Once he gets some free time (lol), I hope he makes some promos for all these events!

Joey drawing the perfect card in episode 137
“Only one card can save me… Nyeh! Jackpot!”

The final duel of the Battle City tournament has been decided! But first, Joey challenges an arrogant Kaiba for third place in episodes 135, 136, and 137, released on Tuesday to the 4Kids YouTube channel. Kaiba, crushed by his loss to Yugi, continues to ignore the signs pointing to his ancient past and is steadfast in moving forward alone. Will Joey defeat Kaiba and convince him of the importance of confiding in others, or will Kaiba wipe the floor with him?

You can find these dubbed episodes and more listed on YouTube’s Shows portal and my index for dubbed Yu-Gi-Oh! streams.

Over in the world of Little Kuriboh, the man himself is back in England after his escapades at Anime Vegas last weekend, where he played a children’s card game with Kroze. While a video of the duel hasn’t seem to have surfaced yet, word has it that LK suffered a vicious loss, only to be reprieved after someone discovered Kroze’s deck had one too many of a certain card. Busted! (In actuality, there was nothing wrong with his deck. Rather than studying the rules, it seems like people just want LK to win, tee-hee.) Anyway, this weekend, LK is attending Alcon 2010 in Leicester! Let’s hope he won’t damage any life points while there. Fellow abridgers MasakoX, xthedarkone, and ShadyVox are guests at the event as well! The gang gathered for a live chat last night, of which the first few minutes were recorded.

Alcon kicked off yesterday afternoon and runs through Sunday. LK released a promo video for the event last month.

Noah Kaiba menacingly brandishing his invisible gun in episode 115
Another one of Noah’s invisible gun moments.

The weekend is upon us! This week, we got another double dose of updates from 4Kids, with three dubbed episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! added to their YouTube channel on both Sunday and Thursday. Keep it up, 4Kids!

In episodes 111, 112, and 113, the Big 5 returns, challenging Yugi and Joey to a duel in an attempt to seize our heroes’ bodies… again. Then, Noah and Seto finally square off for control of Kaiba Corp. and Seto’s body in episodes 114, 115, and 116. As the duel progresses, more details about Noah’s past slowly come to light. Dun dun dun! Head over to my page for dubbed Yu-Gi-Oh! streams or to YouTube’s Shows portal for all the links!

Also, don’t forget that tomorrow, August 14, we’ll be getting a peek at Toonzai, 4Kids’ upcoming anime- and Asian-themed programming block, with Dragon Ball Z Kai added to the morning lineup on The CW. Check your local listings for the exact dates and times. Toonzai will kick off in full force during the Fall season.

In other news, Little Kuriboh announced on Tuesday that he’s added another anime convention appearance to his itinerary with a return to Alcon next month! Another con?! Slow down, LK! I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I can hardly keep up with your schedule, and I’m not even attending these cons! I kid, of course. Naturally, Little Kuriboh has made a promo video highlighting his guest appearance at con. Sadly, it’s a parody of a movie whose remnants I thought I had all but wiped from my mind. Groan. ;)

Alcon 2010 will take place on September 9 through 12 in Leicester, England. LK also attended Alcon last year, which was his first-ever appearance and invitation to an anime convention.

[YGO: TAS] Pearl & Dean – Nyeh!

Nyeh!

Today, Little Kuriboh uploaded a short that was made specifically for Alcon 2009 and played right before its opening ceremony. Check out “Pearl & Dean – Nyeh!” featuring the one and only nyeh-ing Joey!

If you, like me, come out clueless about what this is because you aren’t British enough, then watch this video. In the UK, Pearl & Dean is a company synonymous with cinema advertising. The tune heard in the videos, titled “Asteroid,” is played prior to movie ads and is an iconic piece that’s been on the British big screen for more than fifty years. Or so Bakura tells me.

Yami Malik sticking out his tongue in episode 120

Little Kuriboh has returned from what looks (to an outside observer) like an insane month of fun. It started with his first-ever appearance at an anime convention, as well as his debut as a convention panelist, at Alcon 2009 in Leicester, England. The good times continued across the pond when LK took his adventures to AWA 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia.

LK has collected over two-hundred minutes of video footage created by his fans documenting the LK-anime-con experience! Q&A sessions, impromptu performances of YGO: TAS episode 1, a long-awaited meeting with Vic Mignogna, questions about the color of his nipples, screaming fans, Bakura cosplay — it’s all there! Check it out!

LK has also provided his own short recaps of his adventures at Alcon and AWA. Somehow, though, I don’t think these written narratives and video clips will do complete justice to his experiences. It looked like an amazing time, LK! I’m sure so many of us wish we could have been there!

Little Kuriboh as a cartoon in 50,000! Huzzah!

Congratulations go to Little Kuriboh, whose YouTube account, CardGamesFTW, reached the milestone of 50,000 subscribers less than two days after his abridged series celebrated its third anniversary! To commemorate this occasion, LK has just released a new video: “50,000! Huzzah!

LK officially announces his plans to appear at the British anime convention Alcon 2009, where he’ll be participating in panels about his series. This event, taking place on September 4 through 6 in Leicester, England, will be his first-ever appearance at an anime convention as well as the first time he’ll be appearing as a guest!
