Out today from VIZ Media is Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V, Volume 3: “Swinging Pendulums of Destiny!!” This newest graphic novel collects chapters 14 through 19 originally published in Weekly Shonen Jump. Pick it up for $6.99 for the digital edition or $9.99 for the print.

In this volume, Yuya Sakaki finally regains consciousness back at his hideout after a tough duel. But his downtime is short-lived as Reiji Akaba suddenly shows up, and the pair disappear underground for a long and dangerous duel. Yuya will surely need help from his counterparts and some new dueling tricks if he wants to best the president of the Leo Corporation. As the duel progresses, the history between these two mysterious characters is slowly revealed. What is their connection to Genesis Omega Dragon and the cryptic Adam Factor?

Bonus content in this volume includes early design sketches and comments from artist Naohito Miyoshi of Futoshi, Ayu, Tatsuya, and Eve. Some of the designs look pretty different compared to the final versions! The print volume also includes an Ultra Rare card — D/D/D Destiny King Zero Laplace, Reiji Akaba’s boss monster who makes its debut in Scale 17. This card is only available in the book’s initial print run while supplies last, so don’t miss it.

But the best part of this book might be the comment from duel coordinator Masahiro Hikokubo: “Reiji’s D/D/D is an abbreviation for Different Dimension Demon! It doesn’t stand for Duel Daisuki Desu (I Love Duels) or Dondon Detekuru Dodekai Monster (Huge Monsters Show Up One After Another)!”

I don’t know about you but I am a-okay with these alternate meanings!
