Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions Blu-ray cover mock-up from Anchor Bay Entertainment

Anchor Bay Entertainment announced today that it will release Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions on home video this summer. First up is a digital HD version of the movie slated for June 13. Then, the Blu-ray and DVD versions will hit store shelves on June 27. Both the English and Japanese versions of the movie are included. The home release is also packed with four special features: an interview with Dan Green and Eric Stuart, a look at the cast’s favorite moments, and 4K Media’s “Show Us Your Cards” campaign.

Update (June 5): 4K Media has confirmed that Gold Rare Obelisk the Tormentor will be included with the Blu-ray and DVD.

  1. Yes!!!! We have official news now! I preordered my Bluray and DVD already. I’ll even buy it a third time if it comes out on Itunes! Got to support my favorite franchise of all time,

  2. Yaassss! I’m also super happy to get confirmation of the extras. There haven’t been any extras in Yu-Gi-Oh! home videos in such a long time. ToT

  3. Does it come with a card?

  4. Manga UK if I’m not mistaken, have mentioned that their release will have the gold rare Obelisk the Tormentor. So there’s a good chance the US edition should have it as well.

  5. I preordered both the DVD and Blu-ray just a few hours ago. It’ll be great for both fans of the Japanese version and the dub for containing both versions. Gotta give them points for that.

  6. @Kyosuke @DISNEYGIRL Yup, the press release said a card will be included but didn’t specify which one. The Manga UK version will indeed include a gold rare Obelisk, so that’s one possibility. I’m waiting for 4K Media to formally make an announcement about it before I post anything. Stay tuned.

@dbret12 I’m very happy that both versions will be included too. I guess 4K Media learned after Bonds Beyond Time that that really is how people want it.

  7. It’ll be Obelisk, there’s no reason to have 2 different promos.

  8. Hmmmmmm, you’d think Cinedigm would be distributing this considering they have done the same for all the television series and BBT movie. Hopefully Cinedigm will continue ARC-V.

  9. @DirkG Yeah, it probably will be but I’m still going to wait for official confirmation. There was some incorrect info circulating about the DSoD home videos before they were officially announced, so there’s no harm in waiting for confirmation.

@Charles Martin I would hope so. I’d like to see ARC-V continue without a distributor change.

  10. On Facebook, the official YGO page announced in the comments sections that the US release will have a promo card. They just didn’t announce what card it will be. I bet it’s Obelisk, but who knows.

  11. I know, that’s what we’re saying in the comments above. X) Still waiting for confirmation…

  12. Never thought that they put the Japanese dub in any Yugioh related media really.

Is this the first time they do this? (Outside of the Funimation redub?)

  13. The Bonds Beyond Time BD and DVD included the Japanese audio track.

  14. The card has just been confirmed to be Gold Rare Obelisk the Tormentor, just like the one in Manga UK’s release.

  15. Hello. Do you have any clues why the prices of the blue-ray on Amazon are different?

I can’t find any information explaining the difference.

  16. Good question. I will contact Anchor Bay and ask. Based on the labels on the covers, it seems like one includes both a digital HD and Blu-ray copy of the movie while the other includes only a Blu-ray copy. But for whatever reason, the one with both is less expensive. I’m not sure if that’s an error. I will ask.
