Yami Yugi, furious at Marik for hurting Joey, in episode 128

The English dub of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters is no longer on Netflix. The video streaming titan removed the show from its platform today, for U.S. viewers anyway. Netflix had been streaming season 1 since November 2014 and season 2 since January 2015. The remaining three seasons never made it on there. The platform still hosts seasons 1 and 2 of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL and the Bonds Beyond Time movie as of this writing.

If you are located outside the U.S., is Yu-Gi-Oh! still streaming on Netflix in your country? Have you ever watched Yu-Gi-Oh! on Netflix? Or would you rather watch on other sites like and Crunchyroll?

  1. I can confirm it’s no longer on Netflix Canada. At least I have the DVDs, besides, they only had the first two seasons up. Do either way, viewers would have to go elsewhere to see Season 3 onwards.

  2. I honestly never understood why Netflix never added the remaining 3 seasons of Yu-G-Oh!. At least through Twitter and Tumblr, I noticed that a lot people got back into Yu-Gi-Oh! thanks to Netflix. It’s hard to say, but I think Netflix helped play a part in the revived interest of Yu-Gi-Oh! altogether. I hope another video streaming service will pick up all 5 seasons of the English dub. Preferably one that offers free, worldwide streaming.

  3. NOOOOOOO! I didn’t watch it often, but it was nice to know that it was an option if I ever needed a pick-me-up. I do own Season 1 on DVD, but Netflix was way more convenient. :( At least the dubbed episodes are still available elsewhere, but I don’t think is compatible with Chromecast.

  4. Regarding the lack of seasons 3 through 5, Netflix may have made some kind of season-by-season licensing deal with 4K Media. Maybe Netflix would only pick up the remaining seasons if the first two performed at an acceptable level (whatever level that might be). I doubt 4K Media would intentionally withhold episodes from a massive network like Netflix. In any case, this really hurts Yu-Gi-Oh!’s discoverability. There aren’t many (any?) networks that have the reach Netflix does.
@Jo Try Hulu on Chromecast. The episodes on are Hulu embeds without the Hulu branding.

  5. It is no longer on Netflix Australia and i am very annoyed

  6. Why isn’t Yu GI Oh GX not on netflix?

  7. Why indeed? Most Yu-Gi-Oh! anime aren’t on Netflix. I guess 4K Media didn’t make a deal with Netflix for them. GX is on, Crunchyroll, and Hulu though.

  8. It’s back on Netflix UK

  9. Thanks for confirming that it’s back in the United Kingdom. I’ve also heard from viewers in Australia and Canada that it’s available again for them over there too.

  10. wait how come in us it still only has season 1 and season 2 i really want to see the other 3 seasons welp i guess time for hulu and i month free trail for crunchyroll or yugioh offical site

  11. Just finished watching seasons 1 and 2 and I am dissappointed that I can’t finish watching the series. Hopefully they’ll change there mind and add the other 3 seasons so I’m not left on a cliff-hanger.

  12. Crunchyroll and have seasons 3 through 5!

  13. What about Zexal there was a season 3 and it never showed up on netflix

  14. You’re right, the rest of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL never made it onto Netflix. But you can find the complete series on Crunchyroll and

  15. Lies they removed zexal from the u.s on neyflix and the movie is gone too beyond mad😀😀😑😑

  16. You’re commenting on a post from 2016. I wrote about Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL and Bonds Beyond Time getting removed elsewhere.
