The prototype for Kotobukiya’s highly anticipated ArtFX J Atem figure will be unveiled at the Wonder Festival 2016 [Summer] event this Sunday, July 24! This announcement comes today from Kotobukiya’s @es_series, who teased the release with a tiny image of Atem’s chiseled shoulder and arm.

Kotobukiya revealed at Anime Expo earlier this month that it has the license to sell Atem and many of its other Yu-Gi-Oh! figures directly in the U.S. Atem is slated for a release in 2017.

Wonder Festival (or Wonfes for short) is the world’s largest event dedicated to garage kits and figures. Held every summer and winter in Chiba, Japan, Wonfes attracts over 50,000 attendees and almost 2,000 professional and amateur exhibitors for a day filled with stellar 3D models and toys. Be on the lookout for pics! #wf2016s

Update (July 24): The images are in and, I must say, Atem’s pose looks even better than the one in the illustration Kotobukiya shared at Anime Expo.

The 1/7th scale figure stands about 240 mm (9.4 inches) tall. Its price and exact release date are still to be determined.
