Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters Saikyou no Card Battle! Nintendo 3DS game announcement in Shueisha's 2016 Weekly Shonen Jump issue 20

The upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! game for the Nintendo 3DS first announced at Jump Festa in December 2015 finally has a name: Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters Saikyou no Card Battle! (Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters Strongest Card Battle!). That’s the word from the 20th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, out today on newsstands in Japan. The announcement also reveals that the game will introduce many new characters, four of which were previewed:

  • The unnamed male protagonist, pictured above wearing red
  • Guide-san, wearing white, a support character who helps the player duel
  • Psychic Tendou, wearing green, a duelist who uses psychic-type monsters
  • Strong 19, wearing brown, a duelist who uses monsters with high attack points

The game is slated for a release in summer 2016 and will be available worldwide.

  1. Gematsu says the game will be digital-onl in Japan, can you confirm that?

  2. I’m not able to confirm that. The announcement only says that the game is for the Nintendo 3DS. It doesn’t specify whether it will be physical or digital.
