Today, entertainment distributor Cinedigm and convention organizer Wizard World unveiled CONtv, an upcoming digital network for television and film content catering to pop culture fandoms across a multitude of genres. As its name suggests, CONtv hopes to attract convention enthusiasts who embrace anime, gaming, sci-fi, horror, martial arts, cult classics, and superhero programming.

CONtv’s launch offerings will include Yu-Gi-Oh! as well as other big-name anime titles like Angel Beats, Beyblade, Clannad, Digimon, Ghost in the Shell, High School of the Dead, and Saint Seiya. Also part of its initial line-up are titles like Sonic The Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros, the Legend of Zelda, and Voltron. More titles are listed in today’s press release. Its programming will be available in a free ad-supported format and for a $6.99/month subscription that includes exclusive content.

When Cinedigm and Wizard World first announced their partnership and plans for an entertainment network in February 2014, the duo noted that some of their programming would be drawn from Cinedigm’s library of nearly 2,000 anime episodes and Wizard World’s 150-200 hours of new convention footage captured this year. Wizard World also hoped to tap into its network of vendors, exhibitors, and artists to develop a shopping venue for viewers.

CONtv is scheduled to launch in 2015. Interested parties can check out CONtv.com where they can sign up for a newsletter for more information.

Cinedigm is an independent distributor of DVDs, Blu-rays, and digital programming and has the U.S. video distribution rights to the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series. Wizard World is a pop culture convention organizer whose numerous events, called Comic Cons (not related to San Diego Comic-Con International or other independently-produced conventions), are held across the country.
