Nice to see you again, IN4-M8!
It’s back! Yesterday evening, the mobile app game Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation returned to the U.S. App Store and also made its debut on Google Play. The game is free to play and is now available to iPad and Android tablet users in all Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG territories. iPad users who downloaded the game when it was first released (version 0.502) will want to update their app to the latest version (0.508).
For a brief overview of the game, check out my previous write-up, “Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation Mobile App Game Launches in U.S.” And to read official news and updates straight from Konami and get support for the game, visit the official Duel Generation website.
Duel Generation first soft launched in Canada’s App Store on October 24. It then made a brief appearance in the U.S. App Store on October 29 before it was pulled a mere one day later, likely prompted by reports that the game had been crashing repeatedly. Between then and now, the game nevertheless remained in the Canadian App Store (as well as the App Stores of a few other countries), but yesterday’s Google Play launch and return to the U.S. App Store mark the first time the game has become available globally for both iPad and Android. Konami has still not yet made any wide-reaching formal announcement regarding Duel Generation’s release and availability, but expect to see that soon.
Update: Konami has issued a press release announcing the game. It notes that a Kindle Fire version of the game is forthcoming.
