Earlier this afternoon, VIZ Media announced that it is now releasing Akira Ito’s Yu-Gi-Oh! R manga digitally on VizManga.com! The five-volume spin-off of Kazuki Takahashi’s original Yu-Gi-Oh! manga tells the story of Yugi and his friends taking on a mysterious new enemy, Yako Tenma, after the Battle City finals.

Each volume of Yu-Gi-Oh! R costs $4.99 and can also be read on your iOS, Android, and Kindle devices. Like all of VizManga.com’s other offerings, the first chapter is available for a free preview. Only volume 1 is available at the time of this writing.

This release comes hot on the heels of the digital release of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! manga earlier this month.

VIZ Media began publication of the print version of Yu-Gi-Oh! R in October 2009, with the final volume being released in June 2010.
