4Kids continued uploading YGO DM episodes onto their YouTube channel today, adding both the English and Japanese versions of episodes 3 through 10.

If you tried accessing these videos earlier today, you may have noticed that some of the English episodes were incorrectly labeled as being Japanese, while a few episodes had incorrect titles and descriptions. Everything looks to be fixed and in working order now.

4Kids has also created two playlists for the episodes — one for the English version (though they accidentally left out the first two episodes) and one for the Japanese version. You’ll also notice that all of the English episodes have been renamed “Yu-Gi-Oh! U.S.” to better distinguish them from the Japanese episodes, which are simply titled “Yu-Gi-Oh!”

On a more interesting note, a 4Kids representative left the following comments on their channel:

Hey Yu-Gi-Oh! Fans. THX for the comments. Obviously we’re testing NEW things on YouTube and elsewhere. More episodes are coming…today. ENJOY!

There were some huge hurdles overcome to get this done. Subtitles are an obvious & might come down the road. We felt it was more important to get these out now. Additionally, due to rights issues around the world, we have to restrict most videos to US visitors. This will broaden out a bit on a brand and country basis in the coming weeks. Sorry but that’s just the reality of rights online right now – hence YouTube took down all music videos in the UK last week.

And save your time saying we suck, burn in hell, etc., etc. Life’s too short. If you must RANT, etc. feel free by copying this link: http://tinyurl.com/avzhfy and pasting it into your browser. Or you can even post a response video on YouTube! You know who 4Kids is, we’ve heard all the super negative stuff before so its pointless to continue PLUS we moderate…That said, we do like hearing from you and your comments rock so keep them coming. SUBSCRIBE TO US AND ADD US A FRIEND! THX.

While 4Kids has left short, one-sentence comments and responses in the past, this is the first time that they’ve written about an ongoing uploading project. The possibility of seeing subtitles added to Japanese videos in the future is definitely a plus. It’s also pleasant to see that the 4Kids rep has such a peculiar sense of humor. The TinyURL link goes to the “Let me Google that for you” website where it automatically searches for “Where can i complain about 4kids?” Charming. :D

  1. Congratulations on becoming the top result for “Where can I complain about 4kids?” ;-)

  2. Seriously? LOL.
I hope no one actually comes here to complain. I’m really appreciative of 4Kids’ Duel Monsters uploads. :)

  3. this is cool that they are doing it. however, they get a really bad rap which is not their fault. japanese companies come to them to license their show in a kids block because that is where the money is (toys, apparel bedsheets you name it), which comes with big time fcc restrictions. all the edits they get knocked on come from the networks standards and practices not them. kids tv cannot have death, guns, smoking and since 1930 black face. blame the original content owners as they know what is required to get something on kids tv in the US.

to all the anime fans, sadly, your are too few to actually make worth anyones while to keep it real.

  4. You’re right. It seems like 4Kids is vilified by many people for editing their anime shows. I don’t like the edits either of course, but I can understand why they do it.
