Three Blue Peeps Whitey Dragons from Yu-Gi-Oh The Ebonics'd Series

Little Kuriboh didn’t get a chance to upload a video on April Fools’ Day this year, but his new video released earlier today will more than make up for it: Yu-Gi-Oh – The Ebonics’d Series!

The video features a recording from Kitsune Kon this past March where LK plugs the script for YGOTAS episode 1 into the Ebonics Translator and performs a live reading of the “translation.” Riley Freeman, Jaden, Skeletor, and a bunch of “black” cards also make special appearances.

Somewhere along the line, LK’s “ebonics” seems to morph into some other kind of Southern American English. I was waiting for a “howdy” or “y’all” to be slipped in there. :)

Next up: Yu-Gi-Oh! The Ebonics’d Vagina Monologues episode 1?

Kitsune Kon 2013 Rules Video

Speaking of Kitsune Kon, check out its Opening Ceremonies Rules Video that Little Kuriboh made for the event, where YGOTAS characters highlight the super strict policies that prevented any attendees from having fun. (Just kidding!) If you’ve ever wanted to see what Marik would do when he’s completely plastered, you’re looking in the right place!

The video was definitely made for Kitsune Kon in Wisconsin and was not a generic video thrown together at the last minute. Definitely.

Update: Uploads of the Ebonics video are now also on the Ninjabridged YouTube channel and, thanks to its sudden return earlier this evening, the CardGamesFTW channel.

Update (April 5): LK has now uploaded the Kitsune Kon video to his own CardGamesFTW channel, as well as to Blip.tv, which means that downloadable versions are also available!

[YGO: TAS] Little Kuriboh to Attend Miami Hurricon, Anime Blues Con / YPD Strikes Down CardGamesFTW Again

Logos of Miami Hurricon and Anime Blues Con

Ever wake up one fine day and discover that you’ve sudden been invited to an anime convention that is less than three weeks away? It just happened to Little Kuriboh, who found out yesterday that he and blackrose1m will be guesting at Miami Hurricon on April 14! This will be their second time attending the event. Miami Hurricon is a one-day anime convention organized by the University of Miami’s anime club and takes place on campus in Coral Gables, Florida. Admission is free!

LK has also confirmed that he will be a guest at Anime Blues Con later this year, sharing the spotlight with voice actors Steve Blum, Wendee Lee, and Chris Patton. Anime Blues is now in its third year and will take place from June 21 through 23 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Hmm, we haven’t gotten any promo videos since Marik Plays Mass Effect in early February. I hope LK makes more for these or other future cons!

“Guh. About 20 cons this year in total. I think I need to start attending Cons Anonymous,” LK joked.

Nine Days Later: CardGamesFTW Terminated Again

“Apparently my YouTube channel is back up,” Little Kuriboh tweeted on March 19, just one day after it had returned from being banned back on February 25. “How much am I bet [sic] that it’ll be down again by the end of the month?”

Anyone else that took that bet can go cash in their ticket, as CardGamesFTW was just terminated earlier today, a mere nine days after being reinstated. I guess the YouTube Police Department didn’t like what it saw in Season Zero Abridged #3 and decided to ban the account for an astonishing 11th time! (In all seriousness, it was an automated process that struck down LK’s account, same as in all of the previous incidents.)

Well, you know the drill by now. Check out LK’s YGOTAS Blip.tv channel and his other YouTube account, Ninjabridge, to get your daily LK fix. But don’t be surprised if Ninjabridge disappears in the near future…

While we wait for CardGamesFTW to return, why not follow That Annoying Sensei Guy, who abruptly appeared a week ago and proclaimed that he found the One Piece was invited to a Pony Convention?

Update (April 3): A one-week turnaround? That was unexpectedly fast! CardGamesFTW was unsuspended earlier this evening. For the love of Ra, please, almighty YPD, let the channel make it to the two-week mark before terminating it again! 9_9

[YGO: TAS] Marik Plays Mass Effect – MOMOCON 2013

Title screen from LK's Marik Plays Mass Effect video
“If you have a space problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them in space, maybe you can hire… The Space Team.”

I’m loving these Let’s Play convention promos. We’re getting the fun of Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged and Let’s Play videos, an anime con announcement, and the variety and humor that comes with Little Kuriboh’s projects, all in one video! Yesterday, LK uploaded “Marik Plays Mass Effect,” a promo for his upcoming guest appearance at MomoCon. Why Mass Effect? As it turns out, both Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer, the female and male voices of Mass Effect’s Command Shepard, were invited to the con!

As a fun bonus, LK has also posted an extended 17-minute version of Marik’s Let’s Play video (minus the con promo) on Blip.tv. Nice!

MomoCon will take place from March 8 through 10 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Hilton Atlanta.

LK Confirmed for Alcon 2013

Great news for YGOTAS fans across the pond! Alcon has announced that Little Kuriboh will be returning to Leicester, England later this year for another exciting convention! This will be LK’s fifth appearance at the Anime League event.

Since September 2012, Alcon staff and attendees have made a big push to try to raise enough money to pay for LK’s and other famed abridgers and special guests’ invitations to this year’s event. You can support their cause on GoFundMe, where they are still quite a ways away from their goal of £6,000 (that’s over 9,000 U.S. dollars!). Give them a hand if you’d like to see some crazy abridged stuff at this year’s event!

Alcon 2013 will take place between September 5 and 8. Registration just kicked off two days ago!

Update (February 12): “We have had to make a new donations page,” tweets the head of the fundraising initiative. The new GoFundMe page is at http://www.gofundme.com/Abridgerstoalcon2013. The £800 raised by the old account was added to the new page.

[YGO: TAS] Kami Con Season 5 (w/ Kirbopher) – CON PROMO

Yami Yugi, Nylocke, and Kirbopher in LK's Kami-Con Season 5 promo video
Did Yami seriously just say “Vic Mignogna” again?!

Ahaha, it’s another Kami-Con promo video from Little Kuriboh (on YouTube, Blip.tv)! Whose name is Yami going to butcher this time? Why, poor Kirbopher of course.

Both Little Kuriboh and Kirbopher will be at Kami-Con in Birmingham, Alabama from February 15 to 17. The convention, now in its fifth year, has outgrown its previous home at the University of Alabama’s Ferguson Center in Tuscaloosa and will instead be held at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham.

Oh, and they’ll also both be at Almacon in Alma, Michigan next week, from February 8 through 10. I’m sure Almacon’s organizers enjoyed seeing their event listed as an afterthought in this video. ;P (Or maybe they just didn’t request a video promo.)

“I’ll be working hard on new YGOTAS content (including new episodes!) throughout next month, doing my best to get season 3 done,” writes LK on Facebook. It would be super exciting if he could have some new material at one (or both) of the conventions!

Another Anime Con Update: Yama-Con

Little Kuriboh has also confirmed that he will be attending Yama-Con in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee later this year! Yama-Con, a young fan-operated convention in its second year, will also be welcoming voice actors Sonny Strait, Johnny Yong Bosch, Paul St. Peter, and others as guests. The event will take place from December 6 to 8 at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center.

[YGO: TAS] CardGamesFTW Celebrates 2013 on YouTube / More Anime Con Appearances for LK

Joey dreams of a victory during a duel in episode 128

Now this is the kind of news I like to see close out the year! Little Kuriboh’s main YouTube channel, CardGamesFTW, is back once again! Cheers to the YouTube staff (or whatever human or non-human process that handles counter-notifications) that didn’t take the day off and made this possible. Jeers to the automated copyright infringement claims that continue to make the existence of YGOTAS on YouTube difficult.

CardGamesFTW had been terminated on December 16.

Anime Convention Update

As we close out the year, a few more anime conventions have confirmed Little Kuriboh’s appearances for 2013.

First up is Setsucon, which will have LK as a guest on January 26 and 27 in State College, Pennsylvania. Voice actors Todd Haberkorn and Cherami Leigh and comedian Uncle Yo will all be there, too.

Between March 29 and 31, LK will be in Seattle, Washington for Sakura-Con, though he has confirmed that he has not been invited as a guest. (Mystery solved.) Still, you’ll be able to find him in the Exhibitor’s Hall, where you can “GUHROOGAMESH!!!1” at him very loudly and obnoxiously. (Someone’s bound to do it!)

Anime-zing! will be welcoming LK as a guest between May 3 and 5. Also at the Davenport, Iowa convention will be Johnny Yong Bosch and his band Eyeshine, Cristina Vee, Sonny Strait, Robert Axelrod, and more voice talents.

And although LK as not yet tweeted or posted about it himself, AniMinneapolis has revealed that it has invited LK to the Bloomington, Minnesota event between June 28 and 30. Joining him will be Spike Spencer, Todd Haberkorn, and Sonny Strait.

And finally, LK will be heading to Orlando, Florida for Mythicon on August 23 through 25. Both he and Marianne Miller have been invited as guests, along with Liam O’Brien, Cherami Leigh, and Linkara.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and holiday break. Have fun tonight, be safe, and have a Happy New Year!

Card Games For Charity #6: Orochon Special #2 Challenge Results

Little Kuriboh minutes before taking on the Orochon Special #2 Challenge
See that? That’s the face of a warrior. Of someone who knows what’s in store for him, but who isn’t afraid to die. Stone Cold Martin Billany.

Ladies and gentlemen, Little Kuriboh has released the Card Games For Charity #6 video we’ve all been waiting for: the results of the Orochon Special Number 2 challenge! Which brave souls were able to conquer a gargantuan bowl of the world’s spiciest ramen in 30 minutes?

Little Kuriboh and the gang’s participation in the Orochon challenge was thanks to the $15K raised in CGFC 6. For every $2K raised, LK promised that one person would partake in the dangerous and painful challenge featured on the Travel Channel’s Man v. Food show.

On December 10, LK headed to the Orochon Ramen restaurant in Burbank, California with wife Marianne. They met up with voice actors Erin Fitzgerald, Neil Kaplan, Danielle McRae, Laura Post, Bobby Thong, and Cristina Vee, all of whom put their lives and digestive tracts on the line in the name of charity. Also on hand were voice actor Kaiji Tang, who filmed the gang’s brave undertaking, and other friends and fans.

Sounds like LK had a lot of fun!

[YGO: TAS] Episode 58 – Desperately Dueling Susan / Episode 2 – The Vagina Monologues

Melvin reading a postcard from a girl he sent to the Shadow Realm in YGOTAS episode 58

Little Kuriboh has uploaded YGOTAS episode 58, titled “Desperately Dueling Susan,” on YouTube and Blip.tv. Yay! Episode 58 was previewed during LK’s charity live stream last Saturday, where the IRC chat clung on to mentions of card game hell and Mokusoft and baa’d at those annoying Scapegoats.

The final version of the episode is nearly identical to the previewed version, other than a few video edits and the addition of background music and effects. The only notable differences in the final version are the timing in Tristan’s CPR scene and the inclusion of the stinger and bloopers at the end.

Earlier this week, LK also uploaded YGOTAS Episode 2 – The Vagina Monologues, which he performed for the first time ever during the live stream. (Sadly, the YouTube upload was hit by an automated copyright claim, but I’m sure it’ll be back later.) The video was edited by RebornZombie and takes the audio straight from the live performance. The only thing that might have made the episode even better is if the video footage from his performance were overlaid in a corner. The laughs in the background came from voice actor Erin Fitzgerald’s, whose reactions during the monologue were priceless.

LK’s original Vagina Monologues recording took place on the Wha-Chow! podcast way back in 2010, but still remains one of his most memorable performances.

Both YGOTAS episode 58 and The Vagina Monologues version of episode 2 are available for downloading and streaming.

Update (December 16): Aaaaand there goes LK’s channel. If you’re still keeping track, this is now the ninth time the CardGamesFTW channel has been terminated thanks to those copyright infringement-sniffing “bots.” The last time it happened was on July 29, 2012. YouTube later restored his account on August 7. LK had already filed a counter-notification a few days ago for two videos that were wrongfully removed. Once that’s been processed, I’d imagine that his account will be restored once again.

Card Games For Charity #6 – Hurricane Sandy Relief Livestream (12/08/12)

Yugi gets some words of encouragement from Yami in episode 122

Save the date! On Saturday, December 8, Little Kuriboh will be back with another exciting installment of his famous Card Games For Charity event! But unlike previous events, which consisted of eBay auctions, this charity drive will be streamed live on his Twitch.tv account from 12:00 pm EST/9:00 am PST until 1:00 am EST/10:00 pm PST! All donations will go to the Red Cross to help the people whose lives were ravaged by Hurricane Sandy in late October.

Several guests from the voice acting and video game industries will be joining Little Kuriboh on the live stream, including cast members from Dragon Ball Z, Persona 4, League of Legends, Skull Girls, and more.

And what would a charity event be without some sweet incentives? Throughout the day, LK will be auctioning Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged merchandise, Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, and goods from Tasty Peach Studios, Level Up Studios, and more.

For more information about the event, including a tentative schedule of the live stream guests, check out LK’s post in the YuGiOhAbridged.com forums. A video summarizing the event is also on YouTube and Blip.tv.

Can’t make the livestream but still want to help? Donate directly at RedCross.org. A small number of eBay auctions will be available on that day as well, Marianne noted in the YouTube comments.

Why a Live Stream?

Although Little Kuriboh has participated in live stream charity events in the past, like Anime Fans Give Back To Japan and Ganbare For Japan, this will be the first time he’s running his own event of this kind. Why is he moving away from the familiar eBay auction format used in past charity events?

After his last event for Dan Green, Little Kuriboh was slammed with $500 in eBay fees for the $6,300 he raised. It wasn’t the first time this had happened, but he finally had enough of it.

“Due to all the cumulative problems I’ve had over the years, I will no longer be using eBay for charity drives,” he explained in January 2012 after that event concluded. “Usually, for an official charitable organization, eBay has stuff in place to avoid this s***. Obviously, this isn’t ‘official,’ so it charged us as if we were just selling the items for our own profit. From now on, probably going to host live in-house auctions via a video stream service and have the bids be tallied via chat.”

And that is exactly how the auctions for Card Games For Charity #6 will be handled. Bidding will be conducted only in the YGOTAS chat (accessible on YuGiOhAbridged.com and via IRC at #ygotas @ arg-irc.net). LK decided against using Skype because of its limitations on the number of people that can participate in a group call. As for the video streaming platform, LK is opting to use a new account on Twitch.tv after a poor test run on Livestream.com.

Since his last charity event, LK has considered various organizations that he wanted to support, including RAINN, St. Jude’s Hospital, and Invisible Children’s Kony 2012 campaign. He finally decided on a Hurricane Sandy relief effort earlier last month.

Update (December 2): Heads up! A few goodies have already hit the auction block on eBay. Check them out:

  • Catherine t-shirts and coasters by Sanshee
  • Marble Hornets Season 1 and 2 DVD set signed by the creators and stars of the series
  • Persona 4 t-shirts and buttons by Sanshee
  • Skull Girls t-shirt, pins, sticker, and necklace by Sanshee

Update (December 4): Heck yeah! Four more items have gone up on eBay:

Update (December 6): LK has put up one more batch of auctions!

Furthermore, LK has received some positive feedback about an idea to further incentivize donations. LK has decided to write a brand-new Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic, the length of which will be dictated by the total dollar amount donated between 6 pm EST/9 pm PST and 7 pm EST/10 pm PST. For every $50 donated, LK will write 1,000 words! What will the fanfic be about? Shipping, of course — and he’s letting his fans vote on the pair!

If you’ve ever read one of LK’s fanfics, you know what a tremendously articulate and talented writer he is. This is definitely one incentive to get worked up about. So donate, vote, then donate some more!

And lastly, head over to once again to the YuGiOhAbridged.com forums to get an updated schedule of the live stream, which now includes details about the live auctions!

Update (December 8): There’s less than 12 hours to go before the charity live stream kicks off! LK has uploaded one more promo video for the event on YouTube. Included is a new incentive: if fans raise $5,000 during the stream, LK will show a preview of the new episode! Yay!

[YGO: TAS] Episode 57 – Reservoir Steves

The Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged logo tattooed on Marik's back in YGOTAS episode 57's intro
Gah! Spoilers in the new intro! Sexy spoilers! But spoilers nonetheless!

I spy with my little eye something beginning with the letter oh mai gawd it’s a new episode! That’s right! Youmacon 2012 wrapped up last weekend and Little Kuriboh is at last back at home and has uploaded Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged episode 57! Yugi, Kaiba, and the rest of the gang have finally left Noah and the virtual world. Now, on to the Battle City semifinals and the remainder of season 3! Check out “Reservoir Steves,” streaming on both YouTube and Blip.tv. Also available for direct download are the AVI, M4V, and MP4 versions.

If an October Tumblr post is of any indication, LK struggled a lot writing this episode, as seems to be the trend with many of his other recent episodes. Nevertheless, his hard work looks to have paid off.

“The positive response to the new ep makes me eager to release 58, which I personally like a lot more so far,” he tweeted.

Now then, when are we going to start seeing fan art of a grinning Marik caressing the hair of an unhappy Bakura while sitting in a swivel chair?

Anime Convention Update: 2013 and Beyond

It’s been over two months since I last wrote about Little Kuriboh and his future anime convention stops. Since then, LK has revealed that he will be guesting in Texas twice in 2013! First up is A-Kon 24, which will take place in Dallas between May 31 and June 2. Then, LK will make a return appearance at San Japan 6 in San Antonio from August 16 to 18.

And although he won’t be a guest at the next Anime Expo, LK has noted that he will be still attending the event, to be held over the July 4 holiday weekend in Los Angeles.

It’s hard to believe, but even though 2013 isn’t even here yet, LK has already confirmed several guest appearances for 2014! Aww, how could he tease us like this? It’ll probably be a long wait before any of those are announced. I’ll think of a better way to keep track of all of LK’s convention announcements for next year and beyond, I promise.

LK has one last con appearance in 2012 at Pacific Media Expo, which kicks off later today. As an industry guest, LK will be holding a focus panel on Saturday.

[YGO: TAS] Marik Plays Slender

Even if we never get “Concrete Giraffes 2,” I think I’ll still be able to die happy after watching this. Today, Little Kuriboh uploaded “Marik Plays Slender,” where Marik and Bakura play the indie computer game “Slender” based on the creepy Slender Man mythos. The theme song is “Hurdy Gurdy Man” by Donovan.

If you want to give the Blair Witch Project-simulation game a shot, you can download it for free! Pacemaker wearers or anyone else with a heart problem, you might want to stay away from this one.

This latest video is available for streaming and downloading only on Blip.tv. A trailer is available on YouTube.

With this project now completed, LK returns to editing YGOTAS episode 57!
