New Contact Page and Other Tiny Updates

Happy Bakura is happy.
Hey, everyone. I’ve just made a few small updates around here. First, I’ve retired the Talk Page, removing it from the tabs at the top of the screen. In its stead, I’ve added the new Contact page, which makes communicating with me much easier and faster! I don’t know why I never thought to put up such a page in the first place!
Second, I’ve made a few cosmetic changes to various things. I’ve reorganized my Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series download page a little bit, changing the arrangement of the special/bonus videos to an alphabetical listing. The sidebar on the right side of every page has changed a little as well.
And finally, I’ve also begun updating the FAQs by adding some new questions and answers. The FAQs page is an ongoing project that’s always being tweaked. If you have any questions for me, or want to report any mistakes or broken links, you can always send word my way.
If something doesn’t look right on this site, please also let me know. It is entirely possible that I broke something while making these small changes. :P
Categories and tags redone, plus other updates

I know that everyone visits In the Name of The Pharaoh to download Yu-Gi-Oh! episodes, not to read a blog, and so I write my updates with this in mind. Still, I enjoy a well-organized and easily accessible website as much as the next person, and the one thing that was really bugging me about this place was the poorly arranged categories and tags. When I first added them, I didn’t have a clue what I was doing and the way I had set them up made them pretty much useless. So, I went back and changed all of them for every post.
Now, you’ll see that there are much fewer categories and tags, and that they are laid out nicely in the menu on the right side of every page. If you wanted, for some strange reason, to read all of my posts about fansubs for example, you can now actually find them with ease! 8)
I’ve also updated the FAQs a little bit, rewriting a few of the questions and answers and adding a few new ones as well. I’ve made a few small additions to all of the episode download pages as well.
To all of my visitors who live in the United States, Happy Memorial Day! Go out and enjoy the festivities!
Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie (Series 1/Season 0) Subbed
August 30, 2008 at 10:57 pm | In Fansub, Japanese, Series 1, Site Updates, Yu-Gi-Oh! | Leave a CommentTags: bittorrent, downloads page, movie, tv-nihon
TV-Nihon is on a roll, releasing Toei Animation’s 30-minute Yu-Gi-Oh! movie — simply entitled “Yu-Gi-Oh!” — earlier today. Needless to say, I’ve created a new page just for the movie here, where you can download it via MegaUpload. All credit for the upload goes to Janime’s ShadowNeko003. As with TV-Nihon’s releases of Series 1, if you prefer downloading via BitTorrent, you can grab it from TV-Nihon’s official tracker.

Hey! What happened to my green hair?! Oh, you gave it to that kid…
This movie premiered in 1999, after the first series ended, but before the second series (Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters) debuted. It is often seen as a bridge that links the first series, which centers on the everyday misadventures of Yuugi and his friends, to the second series, which of course focuses on Yuugi and the titular card game. The movie places an emphasis on the card game, and introduces the mechanisms of game-play more greatly than in the first series. Additionally, the backs of the cards change from the “MW” design seen in the first series to the familiar oval design seen in the real card game and in all later series. And, of course, Kaiba loses his lime-colored hair for a more attractive shade of brown. In Japan, this movie was screened simultaneously with the 20-minute “Digimon Adventure” movie.
LittleKuriboh parodies this movie in Yu-Gi-Oh: The Other Abridged Movie.

But I don’t want green hair…
Yu-Gi-Oh! Series 1 (aka Season 0) Subbed
August 28, 2008 at 10:56 pm | In Fansub, Japanese, Series 1, Site Updates, Yu-Gi-Oh! | 1 CommentTags: bittorrent, downloads page, tv-nihon
Earlier today, the fansubbing group TV-Nihon released episode 27 of the first series of Yu-Gi-Oh!, making them the first group in recent times to sub this series in its entirety!
To celebrate this great accomplishment, not to mention the awesome release of a Yu-Gi-Oh! show that many people still have not seen, I’ve created a new page for this series here that contains links to episodes 1 through 27. All credit and thanks go to Janime’s DARKMASTER, MidnightBlues, and especially to Gato and latiasfan2004, for uploading these episodes onto MegaUpload. For those of you who prefer torrents, you can also download this series from TV-Nihon’s official tracker. I’ve also added a link to TV-Nihon’s website in my blogroll.

What? Someone actually cares about my old show?!
In case you don’t know, the first Yu-Gi-Oh! series, simply called “Yu-Gi-Oh!”, aired in Japan between April and October of 1998 — two years before the series “Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters” premiered. However, it was the Duel Monsters series that went on to become an international phenomenon, and when early fans stumbled upon the first series, many christened it “Season 0,” a lost season of Duel Monsters. This, however, is incorrect, for the two are completely separate series animated and produced by different companies. It has also been referred to as “Yu-Gi-Oh! The Shadow Games,” “Yu-Gi-Oh! Series 0,” and “Yu-Gi-Oh! Toei” (after the studio who animated it — Toei Animation).
Now that I’ve made a post about this series, I’ll no doubt get more and more questions about where the raws can be found. The short answer is that while raws for about half of the episodes can be found on Janime, the quality isn’t too good, and they might be difficult to work with for anyone who’s interested in fansubbing this series themselves. I haven’t decided whether I want to dedicate a page here to those raws, but this is something that I’ll address in a future post. For now, go and download TV-Nihon’s release of Yu-Gi-Oh! and enjoy the show!
Update (October 28, 2008): I ended up deciding against posting the aforementioned raws. Their quality is very poor and it’s not a complete set of raws anyway.
Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series

Well, I was bored, so I decided to upload everyone’s favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! parody — Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series by LittleKuriboh! I’ve created a new page for it here.
The videos are available as WMVs (uploaded onto MegaUpload) and MOVs (from the YGO: TAS Revver account). If you don’t like direct downloads and prefer torrents, you can grab them from the official YGO: TAS website’s episodes page.
These videos, by the way, are not flash videos (FLVs) that were downloaded off of YouTube. They are videos that LittleKuriboh himself has made available via his blog or yugiohtheabridgedseries.com.

Even though it’s been over two years since YGO: TAS first appeared on YouTube, I still get a lot of laughs from watching and re-watching the series. I hope you all enjoy these as well. LittleKuriboh’s work is one of a kind.
Update (May 24, 2009): You can now also find all of the YGO: TAS torrents conveniently listed in this post. If any new torrents are released in the future, they’ll be added there.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters Raws are here!
July 2, 2008 at 1:42 pm | In Duel Monsters, Japanese, Raws, Site Updates, Yu-Gi-Oh! | 17 CommentsTags: downloads page
I know that many of you have been looking for Duel Monsters raws, and now, I can finally help you out. I’ve created a new page especially for raws here and have links up for about two-thirds of the episodes. (Raws for the remaining one-third haven’t been found, obviously.)

Jounouchi approves!
The vast majority of the links are thanks to the efforts of Janime’s Gato and WhiteNightQueen, with additional contributions by artorious05, DARKMASTER, Ekreth, Horoko, Shiroki Tenshi, Usako, and myself.
There is one important thing that I want to stress (this message also appears on the Raws page)… Unlike the subbed episodes, I have not watched the majority of the raws posted here, so I can’t speak for their quality. I have heard that many of them come from HK DVDs, have a resolution of 640×480, and are decent enough to use as raws for fansubs and AMVs. However, if you download a raw and the quality is so hideously bad that it can’t be used for anything, let me know and I’ll take it down. I don’t want to intentionally distribute bad-quality raws. Additionally, some episodes have more than one version (with different file sizes, etc.). I have no idea which version is the best, so I provided them all for you to download and examine.
It is my hope that by making these raws more widely available, there will be a greater interest in fansubbing Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters in all languages.
One more note… The URL for the subbed episodes page has changed. Please update your bookmarks! It is now:
I hope this is not an inconvenience! Enjoy! And for those of you who live in the United States, have a super Fourth of July holiday!
Update (February 6, 2009): We’ve come a long way since since this post was first made. There is now at least one raw of each of the 224 episodes! Yay!
Update (February 27, 2009): Some of the raws listed on my DM raws page are now also available for download via BitTorrent.
