LittleKuriboh’s My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Live Stream
April 17, 2013 at 10:22 pm | Posted in Other Stuff, Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series | 1 CommentTags: 91.8 the fan, anime convention, justin.tv, littlekuriboh, twitch.tv

This happened again.
In an effort to raise money to bring Nowacking and 1KidsEntertainment, his friends and the creators of Pokemon ‘Bridged, to Alcon 2013, Little Kuriboh on Sunday offered potential donators a startling incentive: if they receive one single $500 donation, he would marathon My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Within four hours, an anonymous donor did just that. So, LK made good on his promise yesterday, watching the first 28 episodes over the course of 12+ hours. Here’s the recorded event in its entirety: Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Some highlights from the live stream include:
- That Annoying Sensei Guy from LK’s Naruto Spoof singing the MLP theme song at 2:25:34 in part 1.
- Certain acts of extreme violence, the best examples taking place at 48:16 in part 3.
- Naruto singing Pinkie Pie’s “Smile Song” at 50:30 in part 3.
- Marik, Bakura, and other characters singing “Winter Wrap Up” at 57:40 in part 3.
- LK performing the ebonics version of YGOTAS episode 46 at 1:13:05 in part 3. (Spoilers: Mega Ultra Chickn n’ Corn Bread!)
- Marik singing the literal version of the MLP theme song at 1:33:10 in part 3.
- And of course, LK getting his head shaved in part 4.
Little Kuriboh’s live stream kicked off at 9:00 am PDT yesterday on Twitch.tv and ran past midnight. He was joined at various times by his wife Marianne as well as his friends Lee, Kaiji, and TomaMoto. Lee in particular was very knowledgeable about the MLP universe and provided all sorts of insight into the various MLP episodes and generations (though he was adamant that he not be lumped in with the Brony fandom!).
To keep the live stream entertaining, LK was forbidden from using the word “pony,” with each mention being counted against him. (Spoilers: He doesn’t get very far.) Eventually, he decided that if he said “pony” 100 times, he would have to get his legs professionally waxed. If he said it 150 times, he’d do his back. And if he said it 200 times, he’d do his chest. So what ended up happening? LK said his 100th “pony” near the end of the 26th and final episode of the first season. Poor LK. Oh well, here’s hoping his trip to a salon will be recorded!
LK also provided various incentives to encourage people to support the fundraisers for Nowacking and 1KidsEntertainment and for Abridgers to Alcon 2013. A single $500 donation (later reduced to $225), led LK to shave his head live. And $3,000 in total donations led him to perform an ebonics version of any YGOTAS episode, for which episode 46 received the most requests by the chat. Sadly, we did not see anyone give a single $1,000 donation, which would have led LK to get a tattoo of his choosing on his arm.
The live stream ran, for the most part, without a hitch. The only major stumbling block came at 2:39:00 in part 1 when a Twitch.tv administrator named truthful entered the chat and presented LK with an inopportune notice: “Hello martininamerica, Twitch is exclusively for gaming / gaming related content only. What you’re currently stream is neither gaming nor gaming related therefore I’ll have to ask you to kindly please stop immediately.” LK quickly relocated to Justin.tv, where he streamed for the rest of the day without issue.
So after all that, does LK have a favorite pony? “Apple Jack is best pony, Pinkie Pie can f**k off,” he tweeted.
More Convention Announcements
Thought Little Kuriboh wasn’t adding any more anime convention stops for the rest of this year? Think again! First up is Youmacon 2013, to be held on October 31 through November 3. This will be LK’s fifth guest appearance at the Detroit, Michigan event, which has really established itself as the convention for abridgers.
LK has also been invited to Domo Con, taking place between December 13 and 15 in Lisle, Illinois. So far, the event has announced LK and Vic Mignogna as guests.
Additionally, LK has been contacted by J-Culture Con in Derby, England, though it appears that the organizers were unaware that LK now lives in the U.S. Although an initial response to the invitation produced no response from the con, LK eventually managed to get in contact with the organizers and is now in further discussions with them. Will LK be flying out to Derby to attend the September 20 and 21 event? Keep watching their website for updates!
For a list of all of Little Kuriboh’s stops this year, have a look at my LK’s Anime Convention Schedule page.
LK Returns to 91.8 The Fan
It seems like at least once every year since 2010, Little Kuriboh makes an appearance on 91.8 The Fan, a live anime-focused Internet radio station. This year, LK dropped by the Kana’s Korner program on January 31 for an interview with host Kanashimi, though the recording wasn’t posted until just last week. Strange!
Anyway, LK chats with Kanashimi about his role in the Crisis Heart Brawlers: Clash at Otakon video game, shares his opinions about the Silent Hill games, and pimps out the now fully funded Cryamore Kickstarter. Yeah, there’s some outdated stuff in there, but it was a fun time, so give it a listen anyway!

[YGO: TAS] Yu-Gi-Oh – The Ebonics’d Series
April 3, 2013 at 3:26 pm | Posted in Other Stuff, Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series | 2 CommentsTags: anime convention, blip.tv, littlekuriboh, youtube

Little Kuriboh didn’t get a chance to upload a video on April Fools’ Day this year, but his new video released earlier today will more than make up for it: Yu-Gi-Oh – The Ebonics’d Series!
The video features a recording from Kitsune Kon this past March where LK plugs the script for YGOTAS episode 1 into the Ebonics Translator and performs a live reading of the “translation.” Riley Freeman, Jaden, Skeletor, and a bunch of “black” cards also make special appearances.
Somewhere along the line, LK’s “ebonics” seems to morph into some other kind of Southern American English. I was waiting for a “howdy” or “y’all” to be slipped in there. :)
Next up: Yu-Gi-Oh! The Ebonics’d Vagina Monologues episode 1?
Kitsune Kon 2013 Rules Video
Speaking of Kitsune Kon, check out its Opening Ceremonies Rules Video that Little Kuriboh made for the event, where YGOTAS characters highlight the super strict policies that prevented any attendees from having fun. (Just kidding!) If you’ve ever wanted to see what Marik would do when he’s completely plastered, you’re looking in the right place!
The video was definitely made for Kitsune Kon in Wisconsin and was not a generic video thrown together at the last minute. Definitely.
Update: Uploads of the Ebonics video are now also on the Ninjabridged YouTube channel and, thanks to its sudden return earlier this evening, the CardGamesFTW channel.
Update (April 5): LK has now uploaded the Kitsune Kon video to his own CardGamesFTW channel, as well as to Blip.tv, which means that downloadable versions are also available!
[YGO: TAS] Little Kuriboh to Attend Miami Hurricon, Anime Blues Con / YPD Strikes Down CardGamesFTW Again
March 27, 2013 at 7:30 pm | Posted in Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series | 2 CommentsTags: anime convention, youtube
![]()
Ever wake up one fine day and discover that you’ve sudden been invited to an anime convention that is less than three weeks away? It just happened to Little Kuriboh, who found out yesterday that he and blackrose1m will be guesting at Miami Hurricon on April 14! This will be their second time attending the event. Miami Hurricon is a one-day anime convention organized by the University of Miami’s anime club and takes place on campus in Coral Gables, Florida. Admission is free!
LK has also confirmed that he will be a guest at Anime Blues Con later this year, sharing the spotlight with voice actors Steve Blum, Wendee Lee, and Chris Patton. Anime Blues is now in its third year and will take place from June 21 through 23 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Hmm, we haven’t gotten any promo videos since Marik Plays Mass Effect in early February. I hope LK makes more for these or other future cons!
“Guh. About 20 cons this year in total. I think I need to start attending Cons Anonymous,” LK joked.
Nine Days Later: CardGamesFTW Terminated Again
“Apparently my YouTube channel is back up,” Little Kuriboh tweeted on March 19, just one day after it had returned from being banned back on February 25. “How much am I bet [sic] that it’ll be down again by the end of the month?”
Anyone else that took that bet can go cash in their ticket, as CardGamesFTW was just terminated earlier today, a mere nine days after being reinstated. I guess the YouTube Police Department didn’t like what it saw in Season Zero Abridged #3 and decided to ban the account for an astonishing 11th time! (In all seriousness, it was an automated process that struck down LK’s account, same as in all of the previous incidents.)
Well, you know the drill by now. Check out LK’s YGOTAS Blip.tv channel and his other YouTube account, Ninjabridge, to get your daily LK fix. But don’t be surprised if Ninjabridge disappears in the near future…
While we wait for CardGamesFTW to return, why not follow That Annoying Sensei Guy, who abruptly appeared a week ago and proclaimed that he found the One Piece was invited to a Pony Convention?
Update (April 3): A one-week turnaround? That was unexpectedly fast! CardGamesFTW was unsuspended earlier this evening. For the love of Ra, please, almighty YPD, let the channel make it to the two-week mark before terminating it again! 9_9
[YGO: TAS] Marik Plays Mass Effect – MOMOCON 2013
February 6, 2013 at 11:01 am | Posted in Other Stuff, Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series | Leave a commentTags: anime convention, blip.tv, littlekuriboh, momocon, youtube

“If you have a space problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them in space, maybe you can hire… The Space Team.”
I’m loving these Let’s Play convention promos. We’re getting the fun of Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged and Let’s Play videos, an anime con announcement, and the variety and humor that comes with Little Kuriboh’s projects, all in one video! Yesterday, LK uploaded “Marik Plays Mass Effect,” a promo for his upcoming guest appearance at MomoCon. Why Mass Effect? As it turns out, both Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer, the female and male voices of Mass Effect’s Command Shepard, were invited to the con!
As a fun bonus, LK has also posted an extended 17-minute version of Marik’s Let’s Play video (minus the con promo) on Blip.tv. Nice!
MomoCon will take place from March 8 through 10 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Hilton Atlanta.
LK Confirmed for Alcon 2013
Great news for YGOTAS fans across the pond! Alcon has announced that Little Kuriboh will be returning to Leicester, England later this year for another exciting convention! This will be LK’s fifth appearance at the Anime League event.
Since September 2012, Alcon staff and attendees have made a big push to try to raise enough money to pay for LK’s and other famed abridgers and special guests’ invitations to this year’s event. You can support their cause on GoFundMe, where they are still quite a ways away from their goal of £6,000 (that’s over 9,000 U.S. dollars!). Give them a hand if you’d like to see some crazy abridged stuff at this year’s event!
Alcon 2013 will take place between September 5 and 8. Registration just kicked off two days ago!
Update (February 12): “We have had to make a new donations page,” tweets the head of the fundraising initiative. The new GoFundMe page is at http://www.gofundme.com/Abridgerstoalcon2013. The £800 raised by the old account was added to the new page.
[YGO: TAS] Kami Con Season 5 (w/ Kirbopher) – CON PROMO
January 30, 2013 at 9:12 am | Posted in Other Stuff, Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series | 1 CommentTags: anime convention, blip.tv, kami-con, littlekuriboh, youtube

Did Yami seriously just say “Vic Mignogna” again?!
Ahaha, it’s another Kami-Con promo video from Little Kuriboh (on YouTube, Blip.tv)! Whose name is Yami going to butcher this time? Why, poor Kirbopher of course.
Both Little Kuriboh and Kirbopher will be at Kami-Con in Birmingham, Alabama from February 15 to 17. The convention, now in its fifth year, has outgrown its previous home at the University of Alabama’s Ferguson Center in Tuscaloosa and will instead be held at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham.
Oh, and they’ll also both be at Almacon in Alma, Michigan next week, from February 8 through 10. I’m sure Almacon’s organizers enjoyed seeing their event listed as an afterthought in this video. ;P (Or maybe they just didn’t request a video promo.)
“I’ll be working hard on new YGOTAS content (including new episodes!) throughout next month, doing my best to get season 3 done,” writes LK on Facebook. It would be super exciting if he could have some new material at one (or both) of the conventions!
Another Anime Con Update: Yama-Con
Little Kuriboh has also confirmed that he will be attending Yama-Con in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee later this year! Yama-Con, a young fan-operated convention in its second year, will also be welcoming voice actors Sonny Strait, Johnny Yong Bosch, Paul St. Peter, and others as guests. The event will take place from December 6 to 8 at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center.

Little Kuriboh’s Anime Convention Guest Appearances and Visits
January 11, 2013 at 11:36 pm | Posted in Other Stuff, Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series | Leave a commentTags: anime convention, littlekuriboh

It’s a brand-new year, and a brand-new year means four new seasons filled with crazy anime conventions! What lucky cities and towns across the United States and the rest of the world will get to see Little Kuriboh and the magic of Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series live? Where will LK stop next? What cities and towns has he visited in the past? Now, it’s easier than ever to keep track of the cons and events that have featured the creator of YGOTAS in their busy schedules.
Check out my new page, and keep your eyes peeled for updates:
Little Kuriboh’s Anime Convention Schedule: Guest Appearances and Visits
Note: Only anime cons and other fan conventions are listed. Even though LK has attended trade shows and industry-focused events, like CES and E3, those aren’t included (unless they are directly related to anime, otaku fandom, and the like).
[YGO: TAS] CardGamesFTW Celebrates 2013 on YouTube / More Anime Con Appearances for LK
December 31, 2012 at 7:07 pm | Posted in Other Stuff, Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series | Leave a commentTags: anime convention, youtube

Now this is the kind of news I like to see close out the year! Little Kuriboh’s main YouTube channel, CardGamesFTW, is back once again! Cheers to the YouTube staff (or whatever human or non-human process that handles counter-notifications) that didn’t take the day off and made this possible. Jeers to the automated copyright infringement claims that continue to make the existence of YGOTAS on YouTube difficult.
CardGamesFTW had been terminated on December 16.
Anime Convention Update
As we close out the year, a few more anime conventions have confirmed Little Kuriboh’s appearances for 2013.
First up is Setsucon, which will have LK as a guest on January 26 and 27 in State College, Pennsylvania. Voice actors Todd Haberkorn and Cherami Leigh and comedian Uncle Yo will all be there, too.
Between March 29 and 31, LK will be in Seattle, Washington for Sakura-Con, though he has confirmed that he has not been invited as a guest. (Mystery solved.) Still, you’ll be able to find him in the Exhibitor’s Hall, where you can “GUHROOGAMESH!!!1” at him very loudly and obnoxiously. (Someone’s bound to do it!)
Anime-zing! will be welcoming LK as a guest between May 3 and 5. Also at the Davenport, Iowa convention will be Johnny Yong Bosch and his band Eyeshine, Cristina Vee, Sonny Strait, Robert Axelrod, and more voice talents.
And although LK as not yet tweeted or posted about it himself, AniMinneapolis has revealed that it has invited LK to the Bloomington, Minnesota event between June 28 and 30. Joining him will be Spike Spencer, Todd Haberkorn, and Sonny Strait.
And finally, LK will be heading to Orlando, Florida for Mythicon on August 23 through 25. Both he and Marianne Miller have been invited as guests, along with Liam O’Brien, Cherami Leigh, and Linkara.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and holiday break. Have fun tonight, be safe, and have a Happy New Year!
[YGO: TAS] Episode 57 – Reservoir Steves
November 9, 2012 at 3:21 am | Posted in Duel Monsters, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series | 1 CommentTags: anime convention, blip.tv, littlekuriboh, youtube

Gah! Spoilers in the new intro! Sexy spoilers! But spoilers nonetheless!
I spy with my little eye something beginning with the letter oh mai gawd it’s a new episode! That’s right! Youmacon 2012 wrapped up last weekend and Little Kuriboh is at last back at home and has uploaded Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged episode 57! Yugi, Kaiba, and the rest of the gang have finally left Noah and the virtual world. Now, on to the Battle City semifinals and the remainder of season 3! Check out “Reservoir Steves,” streaming on both YouTube and Blip.tv. Also available for direct download are the AVI, M4V, and MP4 versions.
If an October Tumblr post is of any indication, LK struggled a lot writing this episode, as seems to be the trend with many of his other recent episodes. Nevertheless, his hard work looks to have paid off.
“The positive response to the new ep makes me eager to release 58, which I personally like a lot more so far,” he tweeted.
Now then, when are we going to start seeing fan art of a grinning Marik caressing the hair of an unhappy Bakura while sitting in a swivel chair?
Anime Convention Update: 2013 and Beyond
It’s been over two months since I last wrote about Little Kuriboh and his future anime convention stops. Since then, LK has revealed that he will be guesting in Texas twice in 2013! First up is A-Kon 24, which will take place in Dallas between May 31 and June 2. Then, LK will make a return appearance at San Japan 6 in San Antonio from August 16 to 18.
And although he won’t be a guest at the next Anime Expo, LK has noted that he will be still attending the event, to be held over the July 4 holiday weekend in Los Angeles.
It’s hard to believe, but even though 2013 isn’t even here yet, LK has already confirmed several guest appearances for 2014! Aww, how could he tease us like this? It’ll probably be a long wait before any of those are announced. I’ll think of a better way to keep track of all of LK’s convention announcements for next year and beyond, I promise.
LK has one last con appearance in 2012 at Pacific Media Expo, which kicks off later today. As an industry guest, LK will be holding a focus panel on Saturday.
[YGO: TAS] YAMI PLAYS FALLOUT 3 – PMX Promo
August 30, 2012 at 7:06 am | Posted in Other Stuff, Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series | Leave a commentTags: anime convention, blip.tv, littlekuriboh, pacific media expo, youtube

The Power of the Atem
Hey, it’s another Let’s Play anime con promo from Little Kuriboh! This time, Yami takes the controls for some post-apocalyptic fun in Fallout 3 (on YouTube, Blip.tv)! Nice to see that the coldest and most unfeeling wasteland can be brightened up by the appearance of a metal Kuriboh. And, whoa, does Yami sound super British in this video or what?
LK reminds his fans that he will be an industry guest at Pacific Media Expo 2012 in Los Angeles on Veteran’s Day weekend, November 9 through 11.
Another Convention Update: Sakura-Con
Speaking of anime cons, LK has revealed that he will be attending Sakura-Con 2013! Has he been invited as a guest, or is he attending on his own? So far, Sakura-Con has only announced Vic Migderpaderp Mignogna as a guest. Did LK accidentally let slip the con’s plans to invite him?
Regardless, it’s a welcome announcement for fans in Seattle, Washington. GUHROOGAMESH!!!1
Let’s Play Left 4 Dead 2
And speaking of Let’s Plays, check out Little Kuriboh and blackrose1m playing Left 4 Dead 2 together in “Married With Zombies – Dead Center”: part 1, 2, 3, 4
What game should LK play next? And what character should he play it as?

[YGO: TAS] Episode 56 – It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Virtual World
July 20, 2012 at 7:37 pm | Posted in Duel Monsters, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series | Leave a commentTags: anime convention, blip.tv, littlekuriboh, youtube

“Tea attack!”
On a day that has otherwise been marred by the Aurora, Colorado movie theater tragedy, it’s refreshing to see something new from Little Kuriboh to help us take our minds off the traumatic event: YGOTAS episode 56, “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Virtual World,” is now out (on YouTube, Blip.tv).
Lucky attendees at Anime Midwest earlier this month were treated to a preview of this episode, which happened to take place on Mokuba’s actual birthday, LK noted.
My YGOTAS streams and downloads pages have been updated with links to this latest episode. If you do download the episode from Blip.tv, you’ll notice “Do Robot Monkeys Dream Of Electric Sheep?” in the file name. That’s actually the title that LK first wanted to give this episode.
As he did with episode 55, LK found this latest episode very challenging to make, again having problems with the length and pacing.
“Yeah… I’m… not happy with this episode,” LK unabashedly tweeted.

Episode 56 marks the end of the Virtual World storyline and “Yu-Gi-Oh! The Cancelled Series,” leaving Little Kuriboh quite relieved.
“[I]t’s been a long time coming, I’ve wanted to get out of the Virtual World storyline for ages. So done with it at this point. Honestly, the thing that made it less fun was my poor approach to it. I really didn’t think things through enough,” LK said in a series of tweets.
“I had plans for the arc that didn’t end up happening because I had second thoughts, and because people weren’t enjoying certain things,” he continued. “And stuff that I didn’t plan but ended up doing to see if it’d work, more often than not just felt like I was fumbling in the dark.”
Who was complaining and what things were they not enjoying, I wonder, and why is he so critical about what they think?
LK also commented on how some of his ideas were left on the cutting room floor.
“There was going to be a big running thread with Tristan and Serenity, then at the end Serenity was going to declare her love for Tristan… Only for her memory to get totally wiped when she left the Virtual World due to a glitch, and she goes back to hating his guts,” he explained.
“I realised ‘What the f*** am I even trying to do here? Is this funny? How is this comedy?’ and scrapped it halfway through. You can see the beginnings of it in the ‘Death of Tristan Taylor’ episode, but that’s where it ends. That sort of stuff is why this mini-season kinda felt meh.”
Despite being frustrated by Noah’s story arc, LK noted that he’s feeling more confident about his plans for the upcoming Battle City Finals. He also hopes to continue adding bloopers to the end of his episodes, and perhaps even animating them. Sounds great! I’m sure lots of fans would love to see more and are excited about the future of YGOTAS.
LK’s Anime Convention Updates
Since my last update, a massive convention has announced Little Kuriboh as a guest: Armageddon Expo Melbourne (October 13 and 14) in Australia and Armageddon Expo Auckland (October 19 to 22) in New Zealand! LK said that the Expo will probably be the largest con he’s ever guested at.
Closer to home, LK has also been invited as a guest to AnimeWorld Chicago between August 3 and 5.
Wow, his schedule is so packed! There couldn’t be any further announcements of other 2012 cons, right? …Right?
LK says he’s has already confirmed five conventions for 2013, though he wants to cut back on his number of appearances during the next year.
Other Good Stuff
As for what’s coming up next, LK is at long last making more of the Naruto Spoof Series Show! Let’s hope he doesn’t completely destroy his voice!
At Otakon at the end of this month, LK hopes to show the new Naruto Spoof episode, or at the very least, a preview.
While waiting for the Narutroll goodness, give a listen to Kaiba and Yugi reenacting a famous scene from American Psycho!
Update (July 21): Little Kuriboh has uploaded a short promo for Otakon: “SPOOFERMAN RETURNS – Otakon 2012“!
“NARUTO SPOOF 8 DEBUTS AT OTAKON,” it proclaims. Looks like the full episode will be ready after all!
