Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters begins its run on BS Japan
“Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: broadcast begins Saturday, October 2 at 5:30 pm.”

Our counterparts in Japan are taking a trip down memory lane as Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters gets a fresh (re)run on BS Japan, the TV Tokyo-owned broadcast satellite network! Episode 1 kicked off yesterday evening, reaching the homes of millions of nostalgic Yu-Gi-Oh! fans nationwide and maybe even a new face or two! The show will air every Saturday at 5:30 pm.

YGO DM has also been re-airing on the lesser-viewed Animax network since 2008. Prior to that, the series received its first rerun between 2004 and 2008 on its original home, TV Tokyo.

Among some Japanese fans, there’s a longstanding rumor that YGO DM was supposed to have already been given a rerun on BS Japan in the past, but a rights issue with voice actor Shunsuke Kazama, the voice of Yuugi Mutou, scrapped that plan. (Sound familiar?) Of course, like all rumors of this nature, there’s no reputable documentation that backs it up, so a rumor it shall remain.
